“We are very pleased with this year’s attendance, as it is above our 52,570 attendance average across OTC’s 50 editions. We are also seeing high interest in next year’s event. 2019 exhibition space in NRG Center was sold out before our 2018 event, and rebooking for the other exhibition areas is underway,” said Wafik Beydoun, 2018 OTC Board of Directors Chairman.
OTC 2019 will take place 6 –9 May at NRG Park.
ORINOX USA, was present at this years Offshore Technology Conference held at NRG Stadium/Houston, Texas. The overall mood amongst many attendees and exhibitors was increasingly optimistic and talks were positive around the oil and gas industry, especially with respect to the offshore sector. Many EPC and Owner/Operators are now beginning to see an increase in exploration, drilling and production and budgets are now available for new projects with an emphasis in technology, people and services – For ORINOX this is great news.
Dragados Offshore invited ORINOX USA to be present at their booth and showcase one of their platforms by using our Virtual Reality service. Issa ESSOH, our digital asset specialist, was there for all 4 days where he invited visitors to experience our Immersive Training Simulator. The overall response was very positive and there were several strong interest by other clients who stopped by for the demonstration. There were other companies demonstrating their own version of VR. ORINOX stood out from its competitors regarding the technicality of its demo.
In addition to our team stationed at the Dragados Offshore booth, Christian MASSOW & Maxime GUILLOIS provided a formal presentation about ORINOX services to Dragados Senior Management. Dragados Management included representatives from both their US and Spain office. Dragados management expressed interest in several of ORINOX services and capabilities. We anticipate to have more follow up discussion, in the very near future.
During the 4 days at OTC, our North America’s team was able to visit other clients, WorleyParsons, McDermott, Exmar, Technip MODEC/SOFEC just to name a few. We were able to introduce ourselves and discuss current workload, upcoming projects and introduce them to services offered by ORINOX USA.
We wrapped up OTC by collecting all of the contact info that were gathered and have begun sending followup emails and requests for meetings.
